The island popularly known as Middlegrundsfortet is one of the largest artificial islands in the world with a total area of over 50,000 square meters. These include a private marina and a helipad and a historic fort built during 1890-1894 by the Danish King Christian IX.

The broker Jan Fog writes in the advertisement for the island that this is an outstanding opportunity to own island. But he acknowledges that there is a lot for the future buyers to fix in practice. Among other things, sewerage and drainage redone.

Similarly a small island called Rullingen in Lake Mälaren was sold recently which is located ten minute boat ride from Strängnäs and an hour from Stockholm.
